Description

Life can be confusing for all young chameleons. But especially for Leon the Chameleon.

Since he was little, Leon’s eyes have been stuck looking sideways, so he can’t see himself and never knows what color he is. Others are constantly telling him what he should be…blue, green, orange…but they contradict each other and change their minds. How can Leon find out his true color?

Leon’s Color Crisis is a story about discovering our authentic self amid the noise of the world.

As Leon grows up, he learns to look within – beyond what others say – to uncover the truth of who he really is. With delightful illustrations and a simple, profound message, this enchanting book invites young readers and adults alike to embrace their unique essence.

A children’s story that inspires self-acceptance and inner knowing, Leon’s Color Crisis is an invitation to return to the quiet joy of being true to oneself. It reveals that our true “color” – our essential nature – shines brightly when we stop chasing what others expect and rest in who we already are.

The book delivers on the promise of its title and cover. A profound and important message is presented as a heartwarming story, entertainingly and accessibly conveyed, and beautifully illustrated with a fitting metaphor. I was surprised that a children’s book could move me so deeply – the story is short and direct, yet it goes straight to the heart. This book is a wonderful gift for my little godchild AND for my extraordinary friend, because it teaches AND reminds us to be our true selves – with all our facets, as colorful and unique as we are.
